QOTD #00028: “If your friends heard you got arrested, what would they immediately assume it was for?”
What could you possibly be arrested for, grand theft auto? Breaking and entering? Maybe a little public bathroom break... whatever it is, we won't judge. But the police will. If you found yourself in a little good trouble or in the big house, what would your friends assume you were under arrest for?

An innocent bystander that accidentally got grabbed.
"If I had been arrested, I think, first of all, my friends would think that it probably wasn't true because I'm much too anxious to ever be actually arrested. But if it was actually true, I think they'd probably think that I ended up in the way of something that was happening. I was like a random, innocent bystander that accidentally got grabbed because I really just cannot see myself getting arrested for many things."

Trespassing, or driving a bit too fast.
"If my friends heard I was arrested, they would probably either think trespassing or speeding, because I loved finding hidden spots to hang out back in the day, and I love driving my car, even though sometimes it's a little too fast."
Andre P
Dumfries, VA
They'd KNOW I was framed!
"Now, if I got arrested, my friends would automatically know: where is his lawyer? Who framed him? Because I'm not going to jail for nobody. They know me. Unless my life is in danger, and I'm defending myself or I'm defending somebody else, I'm not going to jail. It's just not happening. Let's be completely honest."
Sadie K

They'd assume it was a prank. I'd have to call my mom!
"So I... if I had gotten arrested and I called my friends, I think that they would think I was prank calling them way before they thought I'd actually gotten arrested. Not only am I terrified of authority and terrified of getting caught breaking the rules. But I also like, I don't know. I probably just have to call my mom."

They'd assume I hit someone who said something stupid.
"My friends would automatically assume that I got arrested for - I don't know - punching somebody in the face when they said something stupid? not wearing their mask? I don't know."
Luis R
Los Angeles, CA
Doing something stupid at a protest.
"They would probably think it was for doing something stupid at a protest, getting in a bar fight or fighting at a pick-up basketball game -- something like that."
Meagan R
Worcester, MA
Protesting, and getting a little rowdy doing it
"If my friends heard that I got arrested, they would probably assume that it was for protesting for either animal or human rights and probably getting a little rowdy doing it."
Khenda M
Phoenix, AZ
They'd assume I was driving way too fast.
"If I were to get arrested my friends they'd assume that I was driving way too fast, at, uh, very illegal speeds."
Reeana M
Springfield, NY
Jaywalking or something like that.
"If I got arrested, my friends would most likely to assume it was for jaywalking or something- some petty crime. I don't really get in a lot of trouble, so I don't think they would even believe it at first, either So most likely jaywalking. Yeah."
Lexi B
San Diego, CA
Stealing a cute dog.
"If my friends heard me getting arrested, it would probably be for stealing a dog."

I asked, but I don't think it's an accurate reflection of me.
"Alright, well, this is not super exciting. It says, "if your friends heard you got arrested, what would they immediately assume I got arrested for?" and I just asked them, and they both said... one said 'drunk and disorderly' and one said, 'urinating in public,' so I hope that's not an accurate reflection of me, unfortunately."

Driving too slow!
"If I was arrested, the first thing my friends would immediately think is that I was arrested for driving too slow. I can't help it. It's like I get in my car, and I just want to drive safely. From point A to point B, slow and steady."

A visa? I didn't know you needed that.
"If my friends heard I got arrested, what would they immediately assume for? I have consulted the brain trust and they've gone with 'stupidity' or 'ignorance.' Uhhh, I don't say I agree with it, but, yeah, something stupid, like turning up somewhere without a visa and just being like, 'I didn't know you needed that.' Or something stupid like that. So..."
