QOTD #00087: “If you could be told when you're going to die, would you want to know?”
Death is inevitable, but we rarely know when and how the end of life will come for us. But if you could be told when you were going to die, would you want to know? Would you want to tell your friends and family you love them before it’s too late? Maybe you’d want to arrange for your own end of life care. Then again, is it a good idea at all?

I live like I'm gonna die, so don't tell me when.
"Wow. I already live life like I'm going to die soon, so, no, I wouldn't wanna know when because I think- I think I'd make myself crazy with anxiety trying to, you know, trying to prepare for that moment. So yeah, no. And especially if I knew it was coming and then I saw how it was coming - Oh my- Oh my God, no. I don't want to know. Don't tell me."

Want to know when I'm to die - so I can start living.
"If I could be told when I was gonna die, would I want to know? I absolutely would want to know, and you wanna know why? 'Cuz if someone told me like, "Hey, you're dying in two weeks," I would quit my job and, you know, fly to Spain or something. And if someone was like, "You're gonna die in like 59 years," I'd be like, "Okay, better, you know, keep my nose to the ground and keep working. And let me know in two weeks when I'm about to die, please." I'll set a reminder in my phone, and that's when I'm- I'm outta here, traveling the world and going crazy. I'm gonna live it up for my last, you know, couple weeks, months - couple months, maybe, you know. So, I definitely need to know so I could really start living, you know?"

Fun loving
I prefer to live each day and not know.
"No, I wouldn't like to know. I would prefer to live each day as it comes and go. I wouldn't be interested in knowing when I will die or when- how long I will live. That is not an information I want to get."

Yes, so I can fit everything in before I pass.
"Would I- would I want to know when I'm gonna die? Uh, that's a tough one. I would say, probably yes. Probably yes. I don't plan on living a super long life anyway, so I'd love to just be able to fit everything in nice and quickly. So, if I knew that, you know, I was going in two weeks time or three weeks time, I mean, it'd be scary, but I'd just fit everything I possibly could in, and then see what happens from there. See how we go."

Yes, so I can prepare for my death.
""If you could be told when you're going to die, will you want to know?" Hm... Honestly, I will actually want to know, yes, because I will know how to prepare myself to deal with my death. But death doesn't have a [devil?], right? It comes to each of us at any point in time. So yeah, I will actually want to know."

What's cool about me!
I'd either lose my mind or live without regrets.
""If you could be told when you're going to die, would you want to know?" Wow, that is an awesome question. I think I absolutely would not want to know because what if that answer was "in three years." I don't know. I feel like my life would just start spiraling. I would probably lose my mind. But it might make me start living life with no regrets a little bit more... I don't want to know."

I don't wanna worry about when I'll go.
"No, I will never want to be told when I was gonna- when I'm gonna die, um, because then you would worry about, "I gotta do this or- before I die, I gotta do this. I gotta make sure I do this. Oh, I only have this amount of days to live." I don't want to know that. I just want to live every day like it's the last day. Not always promised tomorrow, so live day by day, accomplish what you want to accomplish while you're still here, and when you're ready to go, you go."

Yes, so I could spend my money in life.
""If you could be told when you're going to die, would you want to know?" Tough one. I'm gonna say yes because my biggest regret would be if I died with money in the bank that I could've spent on holidays, doing whatever, and not being able to spend that money on food, going out, you name it - jet skis. So, I'm going to say yes, I would like to know when I would be dying."

100% do not want to know when I'll die.
"No. 100% no. That's a huge fear for me, and I wouldn't wanna have to live each day being like, "Oh, no. Am I going to fall down a pipe today?" Like, I- I couldn't- I wouldn't be able to live knowing when that was gonna happen. That's terrifying. No, I would not want to know. Please, I would not want to have to, like, mark my calendar. Absolutely not."

I'd rather not know when I'm going to die
"If I could be told, I'd want, I would - when I- when I could die... If I could be told when I- when I was going to die or pass, I wouldn't want to know because that would just... unmotivate because it's not guaranteed that it's gon' be bad, but it's not guaranteed that it's gon' be good, and if it's bad, that would just unmotivate me. So, I would be in a bad spot 'cuz I know when- when it's gon' happen, guaranteed. So, I would rather just not know and just go on like I do now because it's regular. Me- I don't know right now, so it's regular. I would rather stay just like this."
