QOTD #00032: “If you could party for a weekend in any decade, what year is it and where are you?”
Hearing parents and grandparents stories make us wish we could have experienced some of the wildness of the 70s and 80s. And books and movies make us envious of renaissance balls and royal galas. If you were to party in any decade, which year would you choose?

I'm new to Phoeniex!
West-coasting in the '90s.
"If I could spend the weekend partying in another decade, it would be in the '90s - I would say 1993-ish, and I would definitely be on the West Coast. Like, can you even imagine? - just being, like, on the West Coast with Snoop, with Tupac, with whoever, doing whatever, and I guess probably at that time, whoever. I don't know. To me, that would be just the time of your life. You've got the East Coast versus the West Coast situation and, um, why not live a little and be there?"

What's cool about me!
Partying with the parents.
"So, if I could spend the weekend partying in another decade, I would definitely pick the time where my parents were, like, partying - their age. So probably, like, the '70s, maybe? The '70s. Um, I would wanna see them and see how they are during that, like, time of year - or not time of year - that age, like, the '70s. I want to see how they party and stuff. I would definitely be with them in the '70s just seeing how they are. So yep."

No party like a Shore party.
"I am not really a party girl. I mean, I had my moments in college, I guess, but if I had to go party for a weekend and I really wanted to, I think- I think the best place to party would be Jersey Shore when they were filming that reality TV show. Those people did nothing but party. They couldn't do a lot. They were not capable of holding a job, but they could party."

Rocking away in '90s LA.
"If I could spend a weekend partying in another decade, it would certainly be the '90s. Um, and where? Probably LA. Probably the LA music scene in the '90s. Um, a lot of the alternative rock and rap that came out of that time, uh, is some of my favorite music."

Partying in the 80s!
"Um, I would definitely party in, um, the '80s because, uh, you know, just the general aesthetic of the '80s was beautiful. The music, the heart, like, the music was nice, and it reminds me of the movie Scarface. Kind of how, like, the atmosphere looked. It was very, like- I like the '80s atmosphere. So yeah, definitely the '80s."

Atmosphere of the eighties
"Um, if I could party for a weekend in any, um, decade, it will be the '80s, probably because of the atmosphere. And just the music style in general. You know, before, like, the massive technology took over. And stuff like that. I feel like the '80s is the best, you know, just personal opinion."

Grooving with the cool gang.
"So, I would have to say the decade I would be in, from '75 to '85 - right in there. Now, I was born in '83, but when Earth, Wind & Fire was really big, and the sound for 'Let's Groove Tonight' - I would have to be at one of their concerts jamming out and having a good time because yes, that's the way to be."

"I would love to have attended a really awesome rave, party, whatever, in the '60s or '70s in San Francisco, California."
Luis R
Los Angeles, CA
New York in the disco decade.
"I would be in the 1970s, Studio 54, New York City, dancing to some disco, having a - probably one of the best weekends of my life."
Jesse B
Burbank, CA
A hippy weekend at Woodstock.
"I would be going straight to the '60s, you know - Woodstock and just the whole hippie scene seems like a whole lot of fun, so I would love to hang out with those folks."
Kate A

Want to hear a new song?
"I would totally pull a Marty McFly, go back to the 1950s or '60s, introduce some music that's not gonna come out for decades, and then sock-hop my way through the whole night."
Molly D

Time travel in Tinseltown.
"Um, I would party in the '80s in Hollywood, California. It just seemed like a great time there, and all the actresses and actors during that time were super cool people."
