QOTD #00067: “Who would you like to believe you were in a past life?”
Whether or not you believe in reincarnation, thinking about who you might have been in a past life is exciting. Have you ever felt a special connection to a historical figure, or have dreams that feel more like a spiritual awakening? Who were you in a past life?
Sean D.
Enthusiast mindset.
Curing it all like Christ himself
"In past life, I'd like to believe I was Jesus Christ. Why? 'Cuz he had a six pack. And, he knew some stuff. He knew the Bible before the Bible. Like, he was born knowing - I mean, it takes years for [philologians] to know the books, and he's like, 'Yeah, I got it. What, you want to make water out of wine? Pss pss pss, done. Leper? Done. Cure blindness? Done.' I'd like to believe I was very productive, and that I was Jesus himself."

Deborah Sampson, Revolutionary War hero!
"I don't know too much about history, um, but there is one person I remember reading about in middle school named Deborah Sampson who, during the Revolutionary War, disguised herself as a man so that she could fight in the army. And she only left the army once she got, um, injured and sick and her identity was found out. But that's always stuck with me because of, like, what a brave person that is, and I try to emulate that sort of bravery into my life. I've never had a situation like that, but I'd I'd like to think that, um, I could be someone like that."

What's cool about me!
As strong in my past life as I am in this one!
"I'd like to believe that in my past life, if I had a past life, that I was someone very outspoken and that used their voice for change. I've always been a very confident woman and believed in speaking up on what I felt was right and speaking out about inequality, and hopefully I was someone strong back then - a strong woman back in my past life as well. Maybe someone that was a part of the Black Panther movement or maybe someone in politics - Who knows?"

Living like a queen in my past life
"In my past life, I would like to believe that maybe I was someone of royalty, maybe like a queen or a princess. Maybe not super well-known but still lived, like, a very lavish life and who was very powerful and, like, liked to have a lot of power. Um, I think that would be a super cool past life to have."

Love for Buddhism, learned from a past life
"I think about what I was in a past life a lot, actually, and I really think that I was, like, a bodhisattva or, like, a monk because I always - I don't know. I just feel really drawn to, like, Buddhism and Taoism, and I wasn't raised that way. So, I just think that I must have learned that in a different life."

I was a parrot! It makes sense.
"A parrot. I repeat a lot of stuff, like, over and over and over again. So if I was a parrot, it'd make a lot of sense."

I'd rather be farming, like my past life
"In my past life, I think I'd probably be a farmer - someone with just, like, nothing around for hundreds of miles, just basically planting stuff, working on the fields all day. Um, I feel like it's the opposite of what I do now, but that's what I feel like I did in my past life because, you know, that's what I wish right now I was doing instead of being in a crazy city."

Realistically, I was a coal miner
"Well, of course I'd like to believe I was some sort of a noble knight who roamed the, you know, roamed the fields or some cool somebody back in the day. But realistically, like, coal miner. You know, something like that."

Audrey Hepburn! Or an illiterate peasant
"In a past life, I would like to believe that I was someone, like, beautiful and impactful like Audrey Hepburn, who just made such a big impact on the world while also looking beautiful while doing it. Um, but I know in my heart I was probably some, like, medieval peasant who couldn't read."
