Don't do that - for real!
"Is this even a real question? Are you kidding me? Do you know how idiotic that would be? You'd ruin so many people's lives! You think people want that? Don't do that - for real!"

Yes to psychedelics, but not to cure mental health.
"Should doctors be allowed to prescribe psychedelics for mental health? Um, I believe they should be- they should be allowed to prescribe it. However, I would not agree with using psychedelics to cure mental health because I believe mental health should be something that someone should get over with a sober mind, not off of being high off drugs."

Do what's needed to help mental health.
"I think the doctors know what they're doing. Doctors should prescribe whatever medic- medication, medicine is needed, you know, that's to help prevent mental health. It's a big issue going on in everybody's everyday life, so if they're gonna provide the right medicine- medication, then go ahead and do what y'all gotta do to help mental health 'cuz it's- it's very big."

Treat mental health the traditional way.
"Should doctors be allowed to prescribe psychedelics for mental health? Uh, I assume that's like mushrooms and things. I don't- I don't know. I would say no on that one. There's plenty of other, I guess, programs out there for people that have mental health issues, and there's different ways to go about it at the moment that - I know everyone has a different way of, I guess, moving through those things, but I would say at the moment, no. We should stick with the traditional methods."

Psychedelics shouldn't "not" be allowed...
"So, I don't know much about psychedelics and their effects on people with mental health conditions, but speaking from a perspective as if I was a doctor, I think I would say I wouldn't do it, just because it seems very scary and crazy. But if it was something that absolutely helped them, it was the only thing that worked - yeah. So, I don't think it shouldn't be allowed, but I don't necessarily think it should be done unless it's completely necessary. I don't know if that makes sense, but yeah."

Prescribed psychedelics? I'm gonna say "no."
"Should doctors be allowed to just- to prescribe psychedelics for mental health? First of all, what are psychedelics? Uh, I'm gonna just go straight up "no" 'cuz that sounds too "out there." It's probably one of those alternate things. I'm a traditional medicine fan myself, so I'm gonna say no."

If doctors says psychedelics are OK, go for it.
"Ooh, I mean, I- I'll be honest, I don't know a whole lot about the properties of psychedelics. I have seen the headlines that are like, "Hey, this has been shown to help with, you Know, XYZ." Um, but yeah, I'm- I'm not - I don't think I'm qualified to give- give input. I think if doctors believe that they are safe, if, you know, studies have found they are safe to use at certain prescription levels, then yeah, let 'em. Like, they know more about it than me. Um, yeah, that's that's- that's that."

Need to make sure it's beneficial to the patient
"Well, I believe that I'm not in the position to say anything about that substance or drug because I am not sure what it is. But if ever that it came to a point where a doctor prescribe- prescribes it, I think that it should need a further evaluation and assessment to ensure that a prescription to that patient is good and that it will be beneficial."

When you think of psychedelics, trippy hippies and Woodstock might come to mind more often than a hospital or health clinic… but they may be coming to a doctor near you as treatment for mental health issues. Do you think psychedelics are cutting-edge drugs for mental health? Would you take them?
