QOTD #00095: “If your pet was in charge, how would things be different?”
We like to think of ourselves as good pet owners, but imagine the roles were reversed. Do you find your pet responsible? Would they play with you all day, or would they lounge around and put you on ignore? Take a good long look at your pet... how would they be as your owner?

Unlimited fodder isn't free.
"If my pet was in charge, things would be different, because we would definitely run out of food to eat because of how much my pet eats every day. There would be no limit to how much they eat, and we would quickly run out of money for food. And that's how things would be different if my pet was in charge."

Fit and fat lifestyle.
"If my pet was in charge, I think we would eat all day. I think we would take a lot of walks, so I would be super fit. I probably would have a lot more energy. Um, I think I would be a lot bigger because we would just sit, eat, and I think we would play all day."

Paws off my toys!
"Um, well, if my pet was in charge, things honestly would be no different than they are right now. The only differences really would be that she would never touch cat food again. She would only eat tuna. And the other one would be her toys - If I touch them, move them, even look at them sometimes, she will not talk to me for the rest of the day and even the next day. She's very sensitive about her toys, so she would make it to where I would never know where they are."

Just crawling with my skink.
"If my pet was in charge, we would probably spend the entire day crawling around my apartment. I have a blue-tongued skink, and let's just say they're quite adventurous. They don't like to sit still. They don't like to be in their tanks. They like to get out. Mmm, what else would we do? We would probably just spend the whole day eating grapes because that's probably their favorite fruit - food - Oh, and with bananas. So that's what I would do if my pet was in charge. I'd just be crawling around."

A POW to my cat.
"If my pet was in charge, I would never be able to leave the apartment. She is obsessed with me. She is a cat, and she's amazing, and I love her, um, and, like, when I leave, I don't even know - like, she just dies, like, it just breaks her heart every single time. It's like I'm going off to war and she's - is afraid she's never gonna see me again. And when I'm home, she is always within like a, like a three-feet radius of me. Um, so if she were in charge, I don't think I'd ever be able to leave."

New diet for my Border Collie: Whatever he wants.
"'If your pet was in charge, how would things be different?' So, for reference, I have about a five-year-old border collie dog, um, and he absolutely loves food. What dog doesn't? - but, you know, we try not to give him a ton of food. But among the things that he loves are strawberries and, like, snap peas and really just a lot of fruits and vegetables. We have a garden and grow a lot of it fresh, and he's obsessed with it. Um, so my my belief is that if my dog was in charge, if Ace was in charge, and - we'd be having strawberries and raspberries and snap peas for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as popcorn. I think that the food that we'd eat would be the biggest change because the food menu would just strictly go to his favorites, which which are those foods that I've just mentioned. Things that he very rarely gets would turn into things that are delicacies for him - would turn into things that that are, like, your - He would really make - He'd really strive to do that, and, um, yeah. My dog, if he was in charge, he'd really just change the diet."

One lazy puggle.
"My dog, Emma - puggle - half pug, half beagle - um, man, my dog has been depressed her whole life, I swear, like, it - She's a cat in a dog's body. She she just sits on the couch and that's it. That's all she does all day. She doesn't approach to be pet or anything like that. Nothing would get done."

A taste of your own Kibble
"Okay, so I don't have a pet, so I'm just gonna go based off of my roommate's pet. If my roommate's pet was in charge, um, he would freaking take all the food from the pantry and make us sit on the floor and eat Kibbles. He was the most food-obsessed dog I've ever met, and he just would eat literally everything and literally anything."

So, doggie baths are banned!
"If my pet was in charge, my house would have a unlimited cookie dispenser, Scooby-Doo would be playing all the time, 24-7, and baths would be illegal."

Eat, poop, sleep, repeat.
"These are my pets. I have two bunnies, Lop and Bunbun. If they were in charge, nothing would get done because all they like to do is eat and poop and sleep."

They're already in charge.
"Oh, if my pets were in charge, you know - Well, first of all, they're kind of like already in charge and, you know, they kind of just make a mess of the house, like, all the time and, you know, I basically have to feed them and take care of them anyways. So, you know..."

What's cool about me!
Digging dirt, ditching work.
"If my pet was in charge, things would be very much different. We would not be working at all. We'd be going out on walks all day long, playing all day long, and probably digging in dirt."
